Weekly Link Health Check
A weekly routine for monitoring the health and status of your backlink profile
For SEO Manager
Why Weekly Checks Matter
Links disappear silently. Partners remove them, pages get restructured, or technical issues break them. A weekly health check catches problems before they compound.
Weekly Health Check Routine
Monday Morning (20 minutes)
- Review Linkorite’s link status dashboard for any alerts from the past week
- Check for any links that have changed from dofollow to nofollow
- Identify any linking pages that now return 4xx or 5xx errors
- Review any links flagged as potentially removed
Investigation (15 minutes)
- For each flagged link, manually verify the issue in a browser
- Check if the issue is temporary (server downtime) or permanent (page deleted)
- Note any anchor text changes that were not agreed upon
Action Items (15 minutes)
- Send a polite inquiry to partners whose links have issues
- Update your exchange records with current link status
- Escalate persistent issues (links down for 2+ consecutive weeks)
- Remove your outbound links for exchanges where partners have permanently removed theirs
What to Track Weekly
| Metric | Target |
|---|---|
| Active links verified | 100% |
| Links with issues | Under 5% |
| Issues resolved within 7 days | Over 80% |
| New links lost this week | Under 2% |
Automation Tips
Set up Linkorite’s automated monitoring to run daily checks. Use the alert system to get notified immediately when a link status changes, so your weekly review becomes a confirmation step rather than a discovery process.
