Redirect Chain
A series of multiple redirects between the original URL and the final destination URL
A redirect chain occurs when a URL redirects to another URL, which then redirects to yet another, creating a sequence of hops before reaching the final destination. Redirect chains are problematic for SEO because each hop can dilute link equity and increase page load time. For link building, redirect chains can silently erode the value of your backlinks. If a page you earned a link to has been redirected through multiple hops, the link equity reaching your final page is reduced. Regularly auditing your backlinks for redirect chains and requesting updated URLs from linking partners helps preserve the full SEO value of your link profile.
